The Viking men's and women's bowling teams competed at the Titan Invite in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, November 19-20. Both of the men's and women's team finished in the top 10 for the second straight tournament.

The GV men finished the Titan Invite with a total pin fall of 7683 over 30 individual games and 16 Baker games finishing fifth overall out of 16 varsity teams.  Sophomore Kyle Coffman led the Vikings with a tournament high 216.8 average and finished first overall and was selected to the All-Tournament Team.  Individual High Games Included:  Kyle Coffman 255, 232, 224, 199, Cody Malloy 214, 198, Brett Besler 206, 200, Tyler Solum 232, Cody Palmer 206, and Andrew Weeks 198.

The Grand View Viking men's bowling team placed ninth overall at the Warhawk Open in Madison, Wis., last weekend.  The team finished with a combined pin fall of 8476 (5690 pins / six teams games, 2786 / 16 Baker games). 

Top individuals for the averages included: freshman Brett Besler (203), senior Andrew Weeks (197), and freshman Tyler Solum (195).

The Grand View women also finished ninth overall. The ladies finished with a combined pin fall of 7655 (5093 pin / six team games, 2562 pins / 16 Baker games).  Top individual averages for GV included:  freshman Taylor Hance (180), junior Megan Parrott (175), and sophomore Carolyn LaRock (170). 

The Vikings next compete at the Titan Invite in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, on November 19.

Colby Burt (West Des Moines, Iowa) has committed to the Grand View bowling program announced by head coach Gary Gioffredi.

Colby comes to Grand View from Grandview Park Baptist High School where he participated and lettered in football, basketball, and golf. He was a member of the Defender football team that made a state tournament appearance.

Colby is the son of Charles Burt. He plans to study Counseling at Grand View
Mon, May 16, 2011 - [Men's Bowling]
Brett Besler (Dubuque, Iowa) has signed a letter of intent with the Grand View men's bowling program announced by head coach Gary Gioffredi.

Brett is a four-year letter winner from Western Dubuque High School. He was a member of the 2011 1A state championship team and named to the 2009-10 All-District First Team. In 2010-11 his average was 218.7 and he had a 225 league average.

Brett is the son of Merlie and Deb Besler. He plans to study Sport Management at Grand View.

Graham Dawson (Des Moines, Iowa) has committed to the Grand View University men's bowling program announced by head coach Gary Gioffredi.

Graham is a member of the varsity bowling team at Hoover High School. He was the conference individual medalist his senior season, the top individual bowler in five of ten conference tournaments, and has a high game of 276.

He is accomplished in the classroom as well and has been on the academic honor roll for four years and received academic all-conference honors both his junior and senior seasons.

Graham plans to study Business Administration at Grand View.
