A Viking two point lead at halftime was answered with an 18 point scoring margin, in the second half, to lead GV to a win over Ashford. After being down one in the beginning of the second half, Grand View took the lead with 13 minutes left on the clock and ran away with it. The Vikings defeated the Saints 72-52 to clench the regular season Midwest Collegiate Conference Title.

Senior, Jenn Jorgensen (Dayton, IA), carried GV in the first half knocking down 9-13 shots from the field and finishing with 21 points going into the break. The Vikings were able to maintain a 50% shooting average but could not find a defensive answer for the Saints, in the first 20 minutes.

While getting outrebounded by three and turning the ball over eight times in the first half, Grand View knew they were going to have to turn up the intensity in the second half.

"We made some defensive adjustments at halftime and the girls bought into it," said Head Coach Garey Smith. "It all comes down to effort, who wants it more. Once we altered our defensive plan we were able to turn the corner and get the job done."
