
Dani Hubbard (Van Meter, Iowa) has committed to the Grand View softball program announced by Head Coach Lou A. Yacinich.
Dani is a five-year lettering winning catcher and utility player from Van Meter High School. She is a five-year starter for the Bulldogs where she has earned many athletic honors. Dani is a two-time All-Conference catcher, All-County Player (2010, 2011), First Team All-District (2011), and Third Team All-State selection (2011).

Abbey Wilmes (Des Moines, Iowa) has committed to the Grand View softball program announced by Head Coach Lou A. Yacinich.
Abbey is a four-year letter winning pitcher/infielder from Johnston High School. She received All-State honors in both 2010 (Second Team) and 2011 (First Team), was All-District twice (2010, 2011), and is a three-time All-Conference selection (2009, 2010, 2011). In 2009, the Dragons won the 4A state title and Abbey was named captain of the All-Tournament Team.
Abbey is an accomplished student-athlete off the field and in the classroom having earned two academic letters, been on the honor roll for three years, and has earned All-Academic awards in softball (three times), volleyball (twice), and in basketball (twice).
The daughter of Alan and Andrea Wilmes, Abbey plans to study Nursing while at Grand View.

Jessica Grochala (Des Moines, Iowa) has committed to the Grand View softball program announced by Head Coach Lou A Yacinich.
Jessica is a five year letter winner from Des Moines East High School. The short stop has earned all-conference honors at the short stop, third base, and catcher positions. She was an All-State selection both her sophomore and junior years. In 2011, Jessica hit .492 with 54 RBIs and six home runs.
Jessica is the daughter of Pete Grochala and Jill Griffin. She plans to study Physical Education while at Grand View.

The 2012 Midwest Collegiate Conference softball preseason poll has been announced in advance of the fall release of the 2012 season NAIA Preseason Top 25 Coaches' Poll, and William Penn has been predicted to be favorites based on a vote of league coaches.
The Lady Statesmen picked up 69 points in the poll including six first-place votes. Penn finished well ahead of second place Grand View and third place Mount Mercy. Grand View picked up 59 points and the other two first-place votes cast, while the Mustangs finished with 49 points to place third in the rating.
