
The Viking women's golf team travelled north of the border this past week to take part in the eighth annual Vikes Shoot at Cordova Bay Golf Course in Vancouver, British Columbia. The Grand View women placed fourth overall at the shootout, as the University of Victoria won the individual team title.
Sophomore Nicole McDonald (Sarnia, Ontario) was the top placed Viking on the individual leader board, as she finished ninth overall after shooting rounds of 78 and 84. Fellow Viking, Kenzie Rottinghaus (Urbandale, IA) was a twelfth place finisher as she fired rounds of 82 and 81.

Junior, Amalia Mejia (Colombia) was selected as the MCC Women's Golfer of the Week.
Mejia finished fourth individually at the Park Invitational this past week, leading the Vikings to a second-place finish overall. Mejia shot a first round 75 which she followed up the following day with a 84 to finish eleven strokes behind the individual champion.
The Viking women competed in the Park Invitational Monday October 10thand 11thin Kansas City, MO. The women's team finished second to Division II Fort Hays State University.
The Vikings led by three strokes over Fort Hays State University after the first day of competition. The strong day one team performance was led by Junior Amalia Mejia who fired a five over par 75.
However, the Vikings slipped a little on day two as they fired a day two score of 243, 17 strokes higher than their performance from the first day of competition.

The Viking women traveled to the Viterbo Invitational and placed third out of five teams.
The Vikings fired rounds of 340 and 350 to finish 19 strokes behind runner up William Penn and 40 strokes behind Viterbo University.
Freshman Kenzie Rottinghaus (Urbandale, IA) led the Vikings with rounds of 79 84 to finish tied for third.

The Viking women's golf team hosted their annual fall Viking Classic this week at Otter Creek Golf Course in Ankeny, IA. After the two-day tournament, the Viking women finished in second place behind Bellevue University.
The women's team was led by Kenzie Rottinghaus' two-day total of 155, which finished her only one-stroke behind individual medalist Ana Laura Gomez of Bellevue. Rottinghaus' second day round of 76 was a tournament low for Tuesday morning.
