        <title>[Women's Golf] Vikings in 21st After Third Round at Nationals</title>

        <description>&lt;p&gt;The Vikings settled into the No. 21 spot after the third round of the NAIA Women&amp;#39;s Golf Championship today in Greenville, Tenn.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Following yesterday&amp;#39;s second round total of 328 and finishing the day as the No. 20 team in the tourney, the ladies shot a third round team score of 341 for a three-round total of 991.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Kenzie Rottinghaus (Urbandale, Iowa) continues to lead Grand View in the individual standings. Rottinghaus is currently in 37&lt;sup&gt;th&lt;/sup&gt;place overall in the 144-field. She shot an 81 today to bring her three-day score to 234 (73-80-81). &amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;</description>

        <title>[Women's Golf] Rottinghaus Fifth; GV 21st on Day One of NAIA Women's Golf Championships</title>

        <description>&lt;p&gt;The Vikings made a great showing on the first day of their first-ever appearance at the NAIA Golf Championships held Tuesday at Link Hills Country Club in Greenville, Tenn. The national championship field features 28 teams and 144 individuals.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Freshman Kenzie Rottinghaus (Urbandale, Iowa) shot an even-par 73 to lead Grand View and is currently tied for fifth place in the individual standings.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;As a team, GV sits in 21&lt;sup&gt;st&lt;/sup&gt; place with a first round score of 322. Sophomore Nicole McDonald (Sarnia, Ontario, Canada) is making her second showing at nationals after competing last spring as an individual. McDonald shot an 80 on Tuesday and is in 65&lt;sup&gt;th&lt;/sup&gt; place. Junior Amalia Mejia (Colombia) is just one stroke behind McDonald with an 81 and in 80&lt;sup&gt;th&lt;/sup&gt; place. Also representing the Vikings is senior Mackenzie Bourke (Ames, Iowa) who shot an 88 (122&lt;sup&gt;nd&lt;/sup&gt;) and freshman Caitlin Bruch (Carroll, Iowa) who finished day one with an 89 (127&lt;sup&gt;th&lt;/sup&gt;).&lt;br /&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;</description>

        <description>&lt;p&gt;The Midwest Collegiate Conference men&amp;#39;s outdoor track &amp;amp; field all-conference honors for the 2012 season were announced following the MCC Outdoor Championships held in Clinton.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;32 Grand View athletes earned MCC Men&amp;#39;s Outdoor Track &amp;amp; Field honors. All-conference awards go to all athletes finishing in the top three in individual events, or in the top two in a relay event, as well as to the top performers in the conference this season in the decathlon and racewalk. Honorable mention awards also go to any other athletes meeting the NAIA automatic qualifying standard for the national championships.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Tyler Wells of Grand View was named Field Athlete of the Year after winning the shot put and finishing second in both the discus and hammer throw. Chris Adams of Ashford and Jerry Monner of Grand View were named MCC Co-Coaches of the Year. Thirty-six athletes were recognized as part of the all-conference teams as voted by the coaches and nine were chosen to the Gold Glove Team.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Four members of the Grand View baseball team earned MCC Baseball All-Conference honors. Seniors Kyler Morgan (Carlisle, Iowa) and Brady Wathen (Ankeny, Iowa) were voted to the First Team and junior Joe Ramberg (Stanchfield, Minn.) and freshman Zac Smit (Poulsbo, Wash.) to the Honorable Mention Team.&amp;nbsp;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span face=&quot;&quot;&gt;Grand View's Lou Yacinich was named the MCC Co-Coach of the Year along with St. Ambrose Head Coach Jim Callahan.         <description>&lt;p&gt;Lydia Hohenstein (St. Louis, Mo.) has signed a letter of intent to compete for the Grand View women&amp;#39;s soccer program announced by Head Coach Ventsi Stoimirov.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Lydia is a Second Team All-State and First Team All-Conference forward from Lutheran North High School.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&amp;quot;I am delighted to have Lydia join our program this fall. She comes from a high school with great traditions in athletics, so she is used to the high expectations. Lydia&amp;#39;s speed and finishing ability will be great asset to our team and I expect her to make quick transition to the college game. &amp;nbsp;Lydia is a proven goal scorer on high school level (62 career goals so far) and I expect her to continue that trend and make her contribution to our score line this season. Regardless of her scoring ability, Lydia is also a selfless player who looks to provide opportunities for her teammates which will fit very well with our philosophy and style of soccer.         <description>&lt;p&gt;Following&amp;nbsp;its MCC Tourney win last week in Peosta,&amp;nbsp;Grand View has swept the league awards this week announced on Monday.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Senior Brady Wathen (Ankeny, Iowa) was selected as the MCC Baseball Player of the Week. Wathen hit .700 with seven hits, six runs, two home runs and six RBIs as the Vikings swept three games to win the MCC tourney and an automatic berth to the NAIA National Championships.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Junior Joe Ramberg (Stanchfield, Minn.) was voted as the MCC Pitcher of the Week. Ramberg pitched a complete game six-hitter, allowing two earned runs and striking out six in the Vikings&amp;#39; 4-2 win over Mount Mercy in&amp;nbsp;game two&amp;nbsp;of the MCC Tournament.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;</description>

        <description>&lt;p&gt;Grand View senior Obsie Birru (Des Moines, Iowa) was named the MCC Women&amp;#39;s Track Athlete of the&amp;nbsp;Week for the fourth time this season announced today. Birru won the 1,500, 5,000, and 10,000 meter events and ran a leg on Grand View&amp;#39;s first place 4x800m relay team at the MCC Championships over the weekend.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Megan Higgins (Council Bluffs, Iowa) was selected as the MCC Women&amp;#39;s Field Athlete of the Week. At the MCC Outdoor Track &amp;amp; Field Championships, Higgins won the shot put, was third in the javelin, fifth in the hammer throw and sixth in the discus. With this final showing, setting a GV school record in the shot put, an athlete of the week award and a NAIA national qualifying mark in the shot put, Higgins was named the MCC Field Athlete of the Year.&lt;/p&gt;&amp;nbsp;</description>
