Jason Huegel - Assistant Coach

Assistant men's and women's track & field coach Jason Huegel begins his fourth season as a member of the coaching staff. Huegel is responsible for coaching the Viking pole vaulters.

During his previous three seasons at Grand View he coached the sprints, relays, and horizontal jumps. Over the past three seasons Huegel has produced four NAIA national qualifiers in the sprints, ten MCC individual conference sprint champions and coached eight relays to MCC conference titles. Under his guidance sprinters Tabatha Carlson and Miriam Chisala were named the 2008 and 2007 MCC Track & Field Female Athletes of the Year.

Coach Huegel is a graduate of Wartburg College where he was a two-time All-American and Drake Relays qualifier in the javelin and was also an All-Conference performer in the decathlon. Jason and his wife Rachel currently reside in Ames, Iowa with their daughter Evelyn and son Jayden.
