Jerry Monner - Head Coach

Head coach Jerry Monner begins his fifth year as the men's and women's cross country coach at Grand View University. Under Monner's leadership, the Grand View men's cross country team won their first-ever Midwest Collegiate Conference Championship in 2005 and Monner was named MCC Coach of the Year. At Grand View, Monner has coached eight MCC All-Conference runners, three NAIA individual national qualifiers, and one individual conference champion in cross country.

Along with his cross country and track & field coaching duties Monner is an instructor in Grand View's Health and Physical Education Department and serves as the track & field chair for the Midwest Collegiate Conference. He's also a current member of USA Track & Field and the National Throws Coaches Association.

Monner brings an impressive background to the Viking program after spending two years as head cross country and track & field coach at the University of Minnesota-Morris. In just his first two seasons as the head track and field coach at UM-Morris, his teams set a combined 26 school records, and he coached six All-Conference athletes. In 2004, Monner was voted UMAC Coach of the Year as his women's team won the school's first ever conference title in track and field, taking first place honors at the UMAC Conference Championships.

Prior to his position at Minnesota-Morris, Monner served as a graduate assistant track and field coach at Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa, for two seasons and was also an assistant track and field coach for one season at Iowa Wesleyan College in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa.

A native of Andrew, Iowa, Monner received his bachelor's degree in sports management and physical education from Iowa Wesleyan in 1999 and completed his master's degree in athletic administration at Loras College in 2002.


Briana Hahn - Assistant Coach

Assistant men's and women's cross country coach Briana Hahn begins her first season as a member of the Grand View coaching staff. Hahn serves as an assistant for the cross country teams in the Fall and coaches the sprints and horizontal jumps for the men's and women's track & field teams in the Spring.

Coach Hahn is a graduate of Coe College where she was a four year letter winner as a sprinter and jumper for the Kohawks track & field team. She was also a three-time NCAA Division III National Qualifier in the triple jump.

A native of Clinton, Iowa, Hahn received her bachelor's degrees in History and Education from Coe College in 2004 and completed he master's degree in Sport Management at Northern Illinois University in 2007. Bri and her husband Aaron currently reside in West Des Moines, Iowa.
