Head Coach - 15th Season
Coach Yacinich begins his 14th season as the softball coach at Grand View University. Yacinich has led the Vikings to two NAIA National Tournament appearances in 2006, 2013, and 2015. He is an alumnus of Grand View and played baseball from 1981-1985.

Yacinich's coaching experiences include serving as head softball coach at Urbandale High School in 2001 and 2002. In 2002, the team advanced to the State Tournament in which it placed sixth. Yacinich Jr. also served as an assistant at Valley High School in 1997and 1998. He was also the co-head softball coach at Waukee High School and led the team a second place finish in the 2009 state tournament. Other accomplishments include his induction into the Iowa Amateur Softball Association Men's Fastpitch Softball Hall of Fame in 2000 after playing in the major-open level from 1986-1996 and he served as past president of the NAIA Softball Coaches Association.

Assistant Coach - 8th Season

Coach Willer is in her 8th season with the Grand View softball program, but is no stranger to Viking Athletics. Willer was an All-Conference and All-Region infielder for Grand View as well as an NAIA All-America Scholar Athlete from 2006-07. Willer has been a part of all four trips to the National Tournament the Viking softball Program has attended, the first being a player (’06) and the last three as a coach (’13,’15,’16). Willer transferred to Grand View from Kirkwood Community College in 2005 where she was a National Junior College Athletic Association All-Region-First Team infielder. After graduating from Grand View, Willer was an assistant softball coach at the University of Northern Iowa (2007-08) and an assistant coach at Linn-Mar High School (2007-2009).

Willer earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education and Health in 2009 from the University of Northern Iowa and earned her Master’s Degree in Sports Management from Grand View University in 2016. Willer is a Physical Education/Health teacher at Johnston High School and is the assistant softball coach where she has been a part of two state championships (’14,’16) and two state runner-up finishes with the Dragons in her seven years with the program.

Assistant Coach - 3rd Season

Coach Deugan is in his 3rd season with Grand View Softball, and his 15th season as a college coach. Most recently he was the head softball coach at the University of Minnesota Crookston. He has earned 4-Star Master Coach certification from the National Fastpitch Coaches College.


A Des Moines native, Deugan earned his bachelor's degree in History and master's degree in Athletic Administration from the University of Iowa. He is the training coordinator at CrossRoads Shooting Sports in Johnston.
