The Vikings golf team finished their 2010 spring season with a sixth place finish at last week's NAIA National Tournamet in Silvis, IL. Grand View, ranked number 14th in the final NAIA Coaches' Poll, shot a tournament low of 291 in the third round of the tournament to help lead them to a top-10 finish. The NAIA All-America Committee rewarded the Vikings for their strong play by selecting Josh Manske and Graeme Molloy to its All-America team.
Sophomore Josh Manske capped off his First-Team All-Conference season by earning All-American status. The sophomore from Algona, Iowa was one of 15 players to be selected by the All-America Committee to the NAIA Men's Golf All-America First Team.
Manske, a two-time Midwest Collegiate Conference First-Team selection, finished his season at the NAIA National Championships last week in Silvis, IL. In his first appearance at the national tournament, Manske finished 14th individually and helped lead the Vikings to a sixth best overall score.
The PING All-America Team was named following the NAIA National Tournament and Manske was one of ten players to be selected to the team.
This season, Manske finished first place at the Midwest Collegiate Conference Championships in Ankeny, Iowa to gain the automatic berth to the national tournament. Mankse was also selected as the MCC Golfer of the Week three times this season.
Also honored to the NAIA All-American team was senior Graeme Molloy from Glasgow, Scotland. Molloy, a Second-Team All-American selection, finished his senior season with a tie for 69th place at the TPC Deere Run Golf Course. In the fourth round, Molloy shot his lowest round (75) of the national tournament helping keep the Vikings in the top-10 in overall score.
A First-Team All-Conference MCC selection, Molloy won the Mount Mercy Spring Invitational this season. The Scotland native was a runner-up to fellow teammate Josh Manske at the MCC Championships, finishing only three shots behind his Viking teammate.
