The Midwest Collegiate Conference has released it men's golf all-conference honors. Coach Chris Winkel took the Vikings to their first-ever conference title and berth to the NAIA National Championships, helping him earn MCC Coach of the Year honors.

The Vikings were rewarded for their accomplishments this season with two First-Team All-Conference Team selections in Josh Manske (Algona) and Graeme Molloy (Glasgow, Scotland).

Manske won this year's MCC Conference Championship at Otter Creek in Ankeny after shooting rounds of 69, 67 and 70. After winning the conference championship and playing an integral part in Grand View's team title, Manske was named MCC Golfer of the Week for the third time this season. The sophomore from Algona also had an eventful summer where he became the youngest winner of the Northwest Amateur, one of Iowa's most prestigious tournaments.

Alongside Manske on the first-team was fellow teammate Graeme Molloy. The senior from Glasgow, Scotland recently won the Mount Mercy Spring Invitational after firing scores of 72 and 70. Molloy's top finish at the Mount Mercy event helped the Vikings garner top honors. Molloy had finished fifth, third and runner-up in the final three meets leading up to his individual victory in Marion. At the MCC Championships, Molloy finished three shots behind Manske for second place honors.

Leading the Vikings to the NAIA National Championships for the second time in his six year career at Grand View is head coach Chris Winkel. The MCC Coach of the Year selection marks the second time Winkel has received the award. The first MCC Coach of the Year selection came in 2004 when Winkel guided the Vikings to the national tournament for the first time.

"Chris has workedvery hardto elevate the Grand View men's golf program to the top of the MCC over the past few years," said Grand View Athletic Director Troy Plummer. "It is an acknowledgement of his efforts that his peers nominated him for this honor."
