Tyler Wells set a new school record in the discus
The Grand View men's track & field team broke three school records and currenlty sits in second place at the conclusion of the first day of competition in the Midwest Collegiate Conference Championships hosted by Grand View at Williams Stadium.

Sophomore Tyler Wells broke the school record in the discus winning the event with a mark of 43.85m. Pete Westerkamp placed second in the 400m hurdles in a school record time of 55.63 seconds and the Vikings 4x800m relay team of Drew Messerschmidt, Taelor Bohnsack, Austin Ward, and Nick Newcomb placed third in new school record time of 8:16.89.

St. Ambrose is currently in first place with 107pts, Grand View is second with 99pts., and Ashford is third with 46pts.

Field events begin Friday at 10am followed by running events at Noon.
