The Grand View men's golf team won its first-ever Midwest Collegiate Conference title today at Otter Creek Golf Course in Ankeny. In exciting fashion, it came down to play the very last hole of the two-day event to determine the winner. The Vikings finished with a three-round team score of 859 (292-281-286) just ahead of St. Ambrose who finished with a score of 868 (292-289-287).

Sophomore Josh Manske (Algona, Iowa) was medalist with a three round score of 206 (69-67-70). Senior Graeme Molloy (Glasgow, Scotland) was second with a 209 (74-67-68). St. Ambrose's Jake Schertz, Dusty Drenth, and Danny Nelson took the next three spots and the top five received MCC All-Tournament Team honors.

Rick Fee (Phoenix, Ariz.) and Helder Alves (Johannesburg, South Africa) also placed in the top ten. Fee was seventh with a score of 223 (71-78-74) and Alves shot a 225 (78-73-74) for eighth place. Yousaf Khan was 20th with a score of 232 (79-74-79).

"This was a big win for our program and a well-deserved win for a team that had the most successful season in school history. Josh and Graeme deserve a lot of credit. They have had phenomenal seasons. It was a goal at the start of season to win our first conference title and play in the national tournament," said Head Coach Chris Winkel.

With the championship, Grand View receives an automatic bid to the 59th Annual NAIA Men's Golf National Championships held May 18-21 at TPC at Deere Run in the Quad Cities.
