The No. 14 GV men's golf team holds an eight stroke lead over No. 23 St. Ambrose at the end of day one of the Midwest Collegiate Conference Golf Championships hosted by Grand View today at Otter Creek Golf Course in Ankeny.

Two rounds were played today and the Vikings are atop of the team standings with a score of 573 (292-281). St. Ambrose is in second place with 581 (292-289). The Bees came into the championships having won the past seven MCC titles. A win by Grand View would give the Vikings their first-ever MCC title.
