Justin Welsh was a top runner for S.E. Polk High School in the Fall

Head Cross Country and Track & Field Coach, Jerry Monner, announced the signing of Justin Welsh (Southeast Polk H.S./Altoona, Iowa) as part of his Viking's 2010-11 recruiting class. Welsh had an outstanding senior cross country season at Southeast Polk competing as their number three runner this past Fall. He helped propel the Rams to a seventh place team finish at the Iowa Class 4A State Cross Country Championships.

Coach Monner said "Justin will be a great addition to our distance crew. He comes from a very good high school program that has a strong tradition in cross country and track and he's run against great competition in the CIML conference throughout high school and should be able to carry that momentum and experience right into his collegiate career. We're very excited to have him as part of our program."
