Mejia shot rounds of 83 and 87 to finish in tie for 11th place

The Viking women's golf team seventh in the Park University Spring Invitational at the Deuce of Kansas City in Parkville, Missouri. Park University hosted the two-day event which featured teams throughout the Midwest.

Grand View opened the first round of the Invitational with a team total of 363, which had them alone in fifth place. The Vikings finished the two-day round by firing a second round total of 370. Their two-day score of 733 placed them seventh, one stroke behind sixth place Northwest Missouri.

Freshman Amalia Mejia shot rounds of 83 and 87 to place her in a tie for eleventh place. Mejia was followed in scoring by sophomore Molly Engelman (91 and 89) and freshman Amanda West (97 and 94).


The 12 team tournament field was won by Concordia-St. Paul, which shot a two-day total of 656. Concordia-St. Paul's second round score of 318 was 29 strokes better than any other team's for the two-day event.

Grand View's next tournament will be April 18th and 19th, when the Vikings will compete in the MCC Championships at Otter Creek in Ankeny,
