The Viking's men's golf team finished fifth at the NAIA Classic at the famed Brickyard Crossing in Indianapolis. The Classic was hosted by Indiana Wesleyan and contested at the Pete Dye layout which features four holes that are inside the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Grand View opened day one with a team total of 297, good enough for a tie for third going into day two. The Vikings took charge early in the second round building a lead heading into the final four holes of competition. But a poor finishing stretch by the Vikings and a hot Indiana Wesleyan team resulted in a 12 shot turnaround over the final holes.

The 15 team tournament field was comprised of nationally ranked teams from around the country. Following Indiana Wesleyan's 590 total were Johnson and Wales (Florida) and Lee University (Tennessee) one stroke back at 591. Third ranked Malone University (Ohio) was fourth with 595 followed by Grand View University with a 598.

Senior Graeme Molloy, who is having a very strong senior season, finished third with scores of 72-73. He was followed by junior Rick Fee in 15th with rounds of 75-74.

"I am thrilled for Graeme for the success he is having in his final season. Graeme has been a vital part of our team's success for four years and its nice to see him have this type of individual success," said Head Coach Chris Winkel.
