The Midwest Collegiate Conference has announced its men's basketball all-conference honors for the 2009-10 season. Twenty-two athletes were recognized on the all-conference teams as voted by the coaches, including 10 to the First Team and 12 as Honorable Mention.

Three Grand View players earned All-Conference honors. Senior forward Corey Viet (Ackley, Iowa) and senior point guard Grant Burns (Monroe, Iowa) were voted to the First Team and senior guard Greg Schulz (Carroll, Iowa) to the Honorable Mention Team. The honors are repeat selections, all three players earning the same awards last season.

Seniors Viet, Burns, and Schulz led the No. 16 Vikings to an 11-5 MCC record for first place in the regular season standings. Grand View won the MCC Tournament for an automatic bid to the NAIA Div II Men's Basketball Championships for the second straight year; the program's fourth trip under Head Coach Denis Schaefer.

Viet was among MCC leaders in scoring (2nd - 19.3 ppg), rebounding (7th - 6.6 rpg), field goal percentage (5th - 55%), and free throw percentage (5th - 81.5%). He was the MCC Player of the Week twice this season. Viet scored his 1,000th career point this year after just two seasons at Grand View.

Burns led the MCC in three categories: assists (8.06 apg), steals (2.31 spg), and assist/turnover ratio (2.48). Burns is also currently the national leader in both assists and assist/turnover ratio.

Schulz was 2nd in the MCC in three-point field goals made (2.94 pg), 4th in three-point field goal percentage (40.2%), and 16th in scoring (12.5 pg).

Grand View faces No. 17 Sioux Falls in the opening round of the NAIA Championships in Point Lookout, Missouri, on Wednesday, March 10, at 8:30 a.m.
