The NAIA announced this week that Grand View senior midfielder Holly Winter (West Des Moines, Iowa) was a finalist for the NAIA-CTSA All That's Right in Sport Award. The award is given to an NAIA institution, team or individual for actions that have clear connections to sportsmanship, and bring with them outstanding stories that motivate and inspire.

Holly was nominated by Grand View University and Head Coach Ventsi Stoimirov for her "ability to overcome obstacles, demonstrate perseverance and determination; while displaying great courage in the face of adversity."

After a year's absence from competition, Holly returned to finish her senior season in the fall of 2009. She was once again a dangerous presence on the field, leading to many key goals for the team. Holly earned First Team All-Conference honors for the third time at Grand View, maintained high standards in the class room, and was recognized as Academic All-Conference student athlete. Holly added to her already impressive resume in the Midwest Colligate Conference Championship game the game-winning goal with forty seconds left in Grand View University's 1-0 win over the #25 nationally ranked Saint Ambrose University.

Holly will graduate in May with a degree in Health Promotion.
