National Qualifier Latasha Moore
The Viking women's indoor track and field team set four school records and qualified for nationals in one event at the Wartburg Triangular today in Waverly.

Junior Latasha Moore (Omaha, Neb.) placed third in the 55m Hurdles with a NAIA "B" standard national qualifying time of 8.69. Senior Courtney Heid (West Branch, Iowa) set two GV school records today. Heid placed 3rd in the High Jump with a jump of 1.56m and also set a record in the Pentathlon with 2,901 points.

The 4x400m Relay team of Moore, Tabatha Carson (Swear City, Iowa), Taylor Handsaker (Nevada, Iowa), and Jordyn Schertz (Blakesburg, Iowa) were third in a school record time of 4:08.29.

Other top performances included a win by Obsie Birru (Des Moines, Iowa) in the Mile (5:08), second place finishes by Gretchen Lamar (Des Moines, Iowa) in the 55m Dash (7.39), Jordyn Schertz in the Pole Vault (2.45m), and the 4x800m Relay team of Betsy Stuart, Iowa (West Point Iowa), Birru, Melissa Dewey (Pocahontas, Iowa), and McKelle Lacher (Stuart, Iowa) in 10:04.36.

Lauryn Camp (Preston, Iowa) finished third in the Weight Throw (15.15m) and the 4x200m Relay team of Aneisha Parrish (Des Moines, Iowa), Jessica Knoll (Grimes, Iowa), Whitley Schertz (Blakesburg, Iowa), and Jessica Hamell (Carlisle, Iowa) in 1:54.31.

The Vikings next compete at the NAIA Championships March 4-6 in Johnson City, Tennessee.
