The Grand View women's basketball team received its seventh national weekly rating of the season and is ranked as the No. 18 team in the NAIA Division II Women's Basketball Coaches' Top 25 Poll announced today.
The Vikings are up one spot from last week's poll after a split in MCC play last week with a 75-73 loss to No. 14 Iowa Wesleyan and an 88-51 win over Clarke. The ladies have won 12 of their last 14 games; both losses were to Iowa Wesleyan.
As a team, the Vikings continue to be one of the top statistically in the nation, ranked in 17 categories. Grand View is in the top ten in field goal defense (5th - 35%), total assists (7th - 453), total blocks (7th - 135), blocks per game (4.655), total scoring offense (9th - 2076), and field goal percentage (10th - 44.3%). Individually, GV ranks in 15 categories, among top them is Micah Reed in total assists (8th - 130) and Jenn Jorgensen (Dayton, Iowa) in total scoring (14th - 477).
The Vikings (22-7, 12-3 MCC) close out the MCC regular season on Wednesday at Mount Mercy in Cedar Rapids. Game time is 5:30 p.m.
