No. 14 Iowa Wesleyan (20-7, 13-1 MCC) rallied from a 13-point second half deficit to get by No. 19 Grand View 75-73 Wednesday night in Des Moines. With the win, the Tigers clinch at least a share of the MCC regular season title and the No. 1 seed for the MCC Tournament.

Grand View trailed much of the first half with Iowa Wesleyan holding a six point lead twice. The score tied at 19 with 9:44 remaining in the half, the Vikings took a 25-21 lead with back-to-back three-pointers by Brittany Peterson (Spencer, Iowa) and Beth Ehlers (Sioux Center, Iowa). Behind six made three-pointers in the first half and 48.3% shooting, GV led 39-31 at the break.

Grand View steadily built a solid lead in the opening minutes of the second half with all things leaning toward a Viking win. The Tigers came back after trailing 54-41 with 13:52 left in the game with a 17-2 run to take the lead.

Iowa Wesleyan's comeback set the stage for a dramatic final 10 minutes. Following the Tigers' run, Grand View scored six straight points to retake the lead, but IWC battled back again, finally getting the lead back on two free throws with 3:29 left.

The Vikings came back again to take a one-point lead with 1:34 left, but the Tigers made big plays down the stretch and scored to make it 71-68 with 34 seconds left.

IWC went up five after the Tigers hit two free throws with 16 seconds left, but Peterson scored with nine seconds left to cut the margin to three. Wesleyan split a pair of free throws and Ehlers hit a three-pointer with five seconds left to put GV down 74-73. Iowa Wesleyan then hit one of two free throws leaving the Vikings with the final shot with 2 seconds left, but Jennifer Jorgensen's (Dayton, Iowa). 30-footer at the buzzer was long.

Grand View had four in double figures led by Jorgensen's 21 points. Jorgensen, who was 7-of-10 from the field, also collected eight rebounds, five assists, and three steals. Amy Vos (Newton, Iowa) scored 13 off the bench on 5-of-9 shooting. Jamie Sickles (Readlyn, Iowa), added 12 points and six rebounds. Peterson finished with 11 points.

The Vikings shot 45.3% for the game and 50% (10-of-20) from behind the arc. GV was 15-of-19 for 78.9% from the free throw line and outrebounded the Tigers 25-22.

Grand View (21-7, 11-3 MCC) hosts Clarke in MCC play on Saturday. Game time is 1 p.m.
