The Grand View women's basketball team moved up two spots and is ranked as the No. 19 team in this week's NAIA Division II Women's Basketball Coaches' Top 25 Poll announced Monday.
The Vikings went 2-0 last week in league play with wins over Waldorf and Ashford. The ladies have won seven consecutive games, all in MCC play.
As a team, Grand View ranked nationally in seventeen statistical categories, notably in field goal percentage defense (4th - 34.9%), total blocks (7th - 127), blocker per game (8th - 4.70), total assists (11th - 412), total scoring offense (11th - 1915), and field goal percentage (13th - 43.8%). Among individual leaders is Jenn Jorgensen (Dayton, Iowa) who is 13th in the NAIA in total scoring (440) and Micah Reed (Cedar Rapids, Iowa) is 10th in total assists (119).
The Vikings (21-6, 11-2 MCC) host No. 14 Iowa Wesleyan (19-7, 12-1 MCC) on Wednesday. Grand View looks to avenge its January 13th 71-57 loss in Mount Pleasant. Game time is 5:30 p.m.
