Grant Burns (Sr., Monroe, IA) continues to be the leader for the Vikings at the point guard position and his strong play last week helped him earn Midwest Collegiate Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week honors announced by the league office today.

Burns led the 15th ranked Vikings (19-5, 8-3 MCC) to a 2-1 record, including victories over William Penn University and Viterbo University. Burns' efforts have elevated the Vikings to first place in the Midwest Collegiate Conference going into the final month of the season.

The senior point guard finished with 11 assists in each of the three contests this week, while averaging 13 points per game. Burns shot 52 percent from the field, as well as connecting on 76.9 percent of his free throw attempts.

Burns is leading the conference in assists per game (7.36) and total assists (81), while currently second in the country in total assists. Not only is he getting the job done offensively, but Burns also leads the conference in steals per game with just over 3 per contest.
