Meghan McCoy (Des Moines, Iowa) has committed to the Grand View women's soccer program announced by head coach Ventsi Stoimirov.
McCoy is an accomplished forward/midfielder who is a member of the Iowa Rush Club Soccer Team that won the Iowa State Club Championships in 2009 and 2010. She is also an academic letterwinner at Roosevelt High School and a member of the National Honor Society.
"Meghan is a player that brings unique set of skills and personality traits. She loves the game and devotes time not only to play but also to watch soccer. It has helped her develop very strong understanding and intuition about the game. She is a natural leader on and off the field and has impeccable work ethic. Her attitude is contagious and brings the best in her teammates. Meghan has been a captain and a key player for a very strong Iowa Rush team and had significant contribution to their back to back State Championships. She has benefited from playing under Coach Daryl Brazeau for several years and has very strong skill set, tactical discipline and determination to win every game. I am delighted that she is joining our program," said Stoimirov.
Meghan is the daughter of Tim and Robin McCoy of Des Moines. She plans to study Fitness Management at Grand View.
