The No. 8 Grand View wrestling team traveled to Forest City Wednesday night to take on the Waldorf Warriors who received votes in the last NAIA poll. The Vikings won six of nine matches to defeat the Warriors 25-12.

The Vikings won their first three matches with a 7-6 decision by Johnny Coleman at 125 lbs. and a 10-7 decision by Travis Evans at 133 lbs. Nick Coffman had a quick win by fall at 141 lbs.

At 149 lbs., Adam Kurimski lost a close match in a 3-2 decision. Trae Reed was defeated 9-5 at 157 lbs. by Jeff Marval who is ranked No. 7 in the NAIA. Ty Knowler lost a 10-9 decision by riding time at 165 lbs.

GV won three of the final four matches of the night. Glenn Rhees won by fall in 4:44 at 174 lbs. Jordaryl Logan was defeated 6-4 in overtime at 184 lbs. Justin Rau won by major decision over No. 8 Jeff Roman 12-4 at 197. The Vikings finished the night with 4-2 decision in overtime by Tyler Wilson.

Grand View hosts the Grand View Open on Saturday beginning at 9 a.m.
