The first NAIA Division II Men's Basketball Coaches' Top 25 Poll was released on Monday. Grand View was ranked as the No. 7 team in the nation after a 10-2 start this season. The Vikings' two losses came at No. 4 Dordt and at Goshen who received votes in the national poll.
Defending national champion Oklahoma Wesleyan notched all 15 first-place votes and holds the No. 1 spot in the Top 25 poll. The Eagles have sprinted out to a 9-0 record and is currently on a 27-game winning streak, dating back to January of 2009. Oklahoma Wesleyan attempts to set the all-time Division II record with its 28th straight regular season win against Hillsdale Free Will Baptist on Dec. 4.
The poll was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences. The next regular-season poll will be announced on Dec. 7.
The Vikings open the Midwest Collegiate Conference season Wednesday at home against St. Ambrose (4-3). Game time is 7:30 p.m.
