The Grand View men's basketball team gained their 10th victory of the season Monday night with an 86-53 road victory over Faith Baptist. The Vikings 10-2 record in November is the best start in school history.

After a fast start by both teams, Grand View took control late in the first half and pushed the lead to 20 points. The Eagles of Faith Baptist battled back to bring the halftime score to 36-24.

The second half the Vikings came out defensively and forced the Eagles into two turnovers. Both of the turnovers were converted into easy baskets for the Vikings. Although the Eagles hung tough most of the second half, the depth and outside shooting of Grand View wore down Faith Baptist.

The Vikings were led in scoring by senior Matt Banzhaf and junior Bryant Kucera, each of which finished with 12 points. Sophomore Kevin Smith ended up with 11 points and 7 rebounds.

As a team, the Vikings shot 54.8% from the field. They out rebounded the Eagles 35-to-18 and collected 16 steals. Grand View forced Faith Baptist into 23 turnovers.

Grand View will put their #7 national ranking to the test Wednesday night when they open conference play at home against Saint Ambrose University. The home contest will begin at 7:30 p.m.
