The Iowa Basketball Exposure League announced Sunday that 11 players were selected from the November 28, 2009, open tryout in Des Moines, Iowa, to participate in the upcoming 2010 season. Players were selected with international, NCAA, NCCAA, NAIA, and JUCO experience. Coaches Alan Chartrand, Ja'Nae Mosely, and Jack Nolan organized and administered the event.

Former Grand View University standout Rohan Greaves (Melbourne, Australia) was selected to the IBEL and is expected to add both international and local flavor to the league. Greaves was a two-time MCC All-Conference guard/forward for the Vikings from 2007-09.

Owned and operated by Iowa Professional Basketball, LLC, the league plans to develop 30 to 40 players for international teams and the NBA's developmental league. Iowa Professional Basketball, LLC considered joining several leagues, but the opportunity to reduce travel and develop local talent made more sense for stakeholders in the community.

The Central Iowa Hybrids, Iowa Wind Turbines, and Des Moines Hydrogen have joined the Iowa Basketball Exposure League for the late spring 2010 season. Regular season games are scheduled on Saturday evenings and practices on Sunday afternoons to allow talented athletes the opportunity to continue with their career outside of basketball while they gain exposure for an international basketball contract.
