Viking senior Bichok Deng (Marshalltown, Iowa) placed 185^th in the field of 323 runners today at the NAIA Championships held in Vancouver, Washington. Deng ran the 8k race in 27:20 and was the second highest finisher represented from the MCC in the men's race.

In the team standings, Malone (Ohio) won its third consecutive title, earning 44 team points at the 2009 NAIA Men's Cross Country National Championships, from the Fort Vancouver Historical Site on Saturday. The Pioneers defeated second-place Concordia (Neb.) by 122 points.
