The Viking men's soccer team held onto its unbeaten status in league play with a 2-1 win over Mount Mercy Saturday in Cedar Rapids.
 
Senior forward Armin Mujdzic (Des Moines, Iowa) Grand View up 1-0 in the first half with a goal in the 34th minute assisted by sophomore defender Same Weeks (West Des Moines, Iowa). The Vikings took a 2-0 lead on what would be the winning goal by junior midfielder Augustine Faiz (Des Moines, Iowa) in the 73rd minute of the game assisted by defender Per Poulsen (Losning, Denmark). Mount Mercy closed in 2-1 on a successful penalty kick by Enrique Cortina in the 86th minute.
 
The Vikings outshot the Mustangs 20-10 and 13-6 in shots on goal. Junior Darren Martin (Glasgow, Scotland) made four saves in the goal.
 
The Vikings improve to 10-4-1 overall and 6-0-1 and remain in first place in the MCC. Grand View hosts Park University on Wednesday night in non-conference play. Game time is 7 p.m.
