The Vikings continued their improved play this fall season with a third place finish in the Viterbo Invitational held at the La Crosse Country Club in La Crosse, Wisconsin. The Vikings scored a two day total of 744 one shot behind runner-up Waldorf and thirty one strokes behind champion Viterbo.
Freshman standout Amalia Mejia (Columbia) finished in second place individually shooting rounds of 86-85 = 171.
"I am really proud of our progression as a team and Amalia's performance. She is an outstanding player and will only improve with time. We are working hard and continue to see improvement in our performances. I believe this is the highest finish for a Grand View player in our history," said Coach Winkel.
Next up for the Viking women is th emUstang Four Ball Classic hosted by Mount Mercy College at Hunter's Ridge Golf Course October 2-3.
