The Vikings took on No. 4 Baker University Friday night at Cownie Complex. The contest was intense from start to finish with the Wildcats shutting out the Vikings 3-0.

Grand View had several good looks at the goal and challenged Baker the entire match. The Vikings starting eleven played nearly the entire match with the exception of an injury substitution near the end of the contest.

Baker scored twice in the first half for a 2-0 halftime lead. The Wildcats scored its final goal five minutes into the second half. Grand View continued to battle throughout the second half with several quality shots. The Baker keeper made two nice saves on shots on goal by Augustine Faiz and Ryan Adamson.

Darren Martin finished with four saves in the goal. The Vikings outshot the Wildcats 11-10, with Baker holding the advantage in shots on goal 7-3.

Next up the Vikings (5-4) hosts Waldorf in MCC action on Wednesday, Sept. 30, at 7:30 p.m.
