The Viking women's golf team competed in the Peaks Classic on September 14th and 15th in La Veta, Colorado. The Vikings finished in third place shooting rounds of 389 and 372. The field included nationally ranked teams such as University of Victoria and Wayland Baptist University.

Amalia Mejia (Colombia, South America) led the way for the Vikings finishing in 8th place with rounds of 87 and 88.

"The team is making great strides and has a lot of talent. Amalia has continually improved her play as she adjusts to life in the US. I expect a lot of success from them this year," said Coach Winkel.

The women's team next travels to La Crosse, Wisconsin, to play in the Viterbo University Invitational on September 27th and 28th.
