Kansas City, Missouri – The Grand View University football team moved up one spot in the NAIA Coaches' Poll to No. 6.

The Vikings are 5-1 overall. They took the weekend to rest their bodies as they had a bye week from competition.

Saint Francis (Ind.) earned the No. 1 ranking for the 8th-straight week. Baker (2), Benedictine (12), and Peru State (RV) also appeared on the poll from the Heart of America Conference. The full rankings can be seen below.

Grand View will head back onto the gridiron this Saturday, October 14th against the Bobcats of Peru State in Des Moines at Duke Williams Stadium. Kickoff begins at 1:00 pm.

Both teams will come into their first divisional matchup with rested legs as Peru State also enters the contest after coming off its bye week. The Vikings will have to contain the Bobcat's dominant running attack. Peru State holds the No. 3 ranked rushing offense in the country at 282 yards/game. Up until this point in the season, the Grand View defense has been stout by only given up 130 yards/game.

Offensively, the Vikings will have to battle one of the best defenses in 3rd-down situations. The Bobcats hold their opponents to a mere 25% 3rd-down conversion rate. The Grand View offense, meanwhile, converts on 46% of their 3rd-down attempts and garners 30 first downs/game. The time of possession battle will be something to keep an eye on in this contest.
