Des Moines, Iowa – After being delayed over an hour due to weather, the (RV) Grand View men's soccer team came out on top with a 2-1 victory over Bellevue University Tuesday evening in a non-conference match-up at James W. Cownie Soccer Complex. The Vikings improved their record to 6-3-2 on the year while Bellevue fell to 4-7-1 overall on the season while

Grand View struck first, finding the back of the net in the 26th minute. Simone Raiola (JR/Triuggio, Italy) chipped a beautiful ball to Claudio Repetto (FR/Genova, Italy) who beat the BU keeper far corner to tally his fifth goal for the Viking this season. Grand View entered halftime with a 1-0 advantage.

Bellevue equalized early in the second half when Yago Ramos found the back of the net less than ten minutes into the half. Around the midway point of the second half, the two teams sat through a nearly hour-long weather delay before resuming play with 33:11 on the clock.

Grand View scored the difference-maker in the 83rd minute after David Gomez (SR/Marshalltown, IA) finished off a free kick served into the box by Mattia Giangrande (SO/Cisterna Di Latina, Italy).

Bellevue outshot the Vikings 12-10 but both teams put six on frame. Grand View was awarded 10 corner kicks while giving up only three. Alexander Macgregor recorded five saves for the Vikings.
