Fayette, MO­ – Grand View women's soccer took on the No. 13 nationally ranked Central Methodist Eagles in Heart of America Athletic Conference action Saturday night at Davis Field. The Vikings fell 2-0 in a tough battle and moved to a 5-6 over record and 2-3 in the conference. The Eagles remain undefeated in the conference and advanced to a 10-0-1 overall record and 5-0 in Heart.

Central Methodist scored in the first minute of play to put the Eagles up early on the board 1-0. In the remaining time of the first half, Central Methodist had five shots with two on goal while the Vikings struggled to get a shot off. Going into the half the Eagles lead 1-0.

Seven minutes into the second half the Eagle's struck again to go up 2-0. Grand View had its first shot on goal in the 65th minute of play from Kyra Savage (JR/Crystal Lake, IL), however, the Central Methodist keeper, Freeman, made the save. The Vikings were unable to come back and fell 2-0 after 90 minutes.

Central Methodist outshot Grand View 10-2 in the match, and held an advantage in corner kicks 4-0. Viking goalkeeper Celenka Hommel (SO/Nieuw-Vossemeer, Netherlands) recorded three saves for the Vikings.

Grand View is in action next Saturday, October 7, against (RV) MidAmerica Nazarene. Kickoff is set for 1 pm in Olathe, Kansas.
