Women's Volleyball - Sat, Sep. 30, 2017

In attempt to win their seventh straight contest, the Grand View women's volleyball team travelled to Fayette, Mo. Friday to take on Central Methodist. In a hard-fought battle, the Vikings prevailed 3-2 (25-18, 23-25, 25-22, 22-25, 15-13) over the Eagles.

Grand View had several players contribute offensively including four with double-digit kills. Junior Kelsey Redmond (Iowa Falls, Iowa) led the way with 17 kills while senior Erin Wenzel (Clinton, Iowa) had 16. Juniors Meagan Miller (Floyd, Iowa) and Courtney Twit (West Des Moines, Iowa) each had 10 kills in the win. Sophomore Trystin Luneckas (West Branch, Iowa) tallied 51 assists and also added 12 digs.

Defensively, the Vikings were led by junior Jordyn Rittman (Ankeny, Iowa) with 29 digs. Miller added 25 while sophomore Keely Larkin (Johnston, Iowa) had 17 digs and Redmond added 15. As a team, Grand View had 12 blocks.

The No. 13 Vikings (15-6, 9-0), who sit atop the Heart North, will travel to Marshall, Mo. today to face No. 21 Missouri Valley (20-2, 8-0) who sits first in the Heart South. Game time is set for 2 p.m.
