The Grand View football hit the road after its first home victory of the season last weekend. The Vikings traveled to Indianapolis, Indiana, to face Marian University in non-conference action for the second year in a row. Marian once again came out on top in this year's match-up and defeated the Vikings 34-16 in its new stadium in front of a crowd of more than 3,000 fans.

The Vikings got on the board first in the second quarter after a 48-yard touchdown pass by Taylor Bennett to Brett Opdahl capped a four-play, 62-yard drive to give them a 7-0 lead. The Knights immediately answered with a scoring drive of their own to tie the game 7-7.

Marian University got the ball to start the second half, and the Knights marched down the field on a seven-play, 70-yard drive to increase their lead to 20-7.

A Marian sack closed the door on the Vikings' ensuing drive, but the Knights were forced to punt on their next drive.

The Vikings looked to get back in the ballgame when they strung together a 12-play, 45-yard drive. However, the result was just a 33-yard field goal by Blake Steil to cut the gap to 20-10 with 2:23 to go in the third quarter.

The Knights extended their lead at the start of the fourth quarter with a six-play, 61-yard touchdown drive to take a 27-10 lead.
