Women's Volleyball - Sat, Sep. 16, 2017

The Grand View women's volleyball team played part one of their home stand on Friday (Sept 15) evening against the Clarke Pride, who also came in with a perfect conference record.  Despite a slow start, the Vikings came away with a 3-1 (16-25, 25-18, 26-24, 25-18) victory, bringing their Heart record to 4-0.

Offensively, junior Courtney Twit (West Des Moines, Iowa) had a monster game finishing with a team-high 19 kills. Senior Erin Wenzel (Clinton, Iowa) also racked up double-digit kills with 12 and junior Kelsey Redmond (Iowa Falls, Iowa) added nine.

Defensively, the Vikings had three with double-digit digs led by junior Jordyn Rittman (Ankeny, Iowa) with 19. Junior Meagan Miller (Floyd, Iowa) and sophomore Trystin Luneckas (West Branch, Iowa) had 14 and 11 digs, respectively. Luneckas also tallied 46 assists in the victory.

The No. 12 Vikings (10-6, 4-0) host Mount Mercy (5-7, 0-3) today (Sept 16) at 2 p.m. in the Charles S. Johnson Wellness Center.
