Des Moines, Iowa-  No. 3 Grand View struggled to find the back of the net Tuesday, August 30, resulting in a 1-1 tie against NAIA opponent Morningside College.

Grand View held possession most of the game, outshooting the Mustangs 34-7 and earning 14 corner kicks. The first half remained scoreless, as the Vikings only put three shots on frame. Early into the second half (69:05), Viking defense committed an error that resulted in an own goal, giving the Mustangs a 1-0 lead. 

Grand View answered with several attacks within the next ten minutes. Senior Mark Taylor (SR/Glasgow, Scotland) was able to beat the Morningside defense and finish the ball upper ninety far-pole tieing the 1-1. The Vikings continued to attack but were unable to put another goal in, sending the game into overtime. After 20 minutes of overtime, the game remained 1-1.

The Vikings are in actions again Thursday, September 7, as they travel to Hastings, Neb. to take on defending NAIA National Champions Hasting College.
