KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced the 2017 Baseball All-America Teams as selected by the NAIA-Baseball Coaches Association All-America Committee. Grand View junior, Austin Marchant was named to the 2017 NAIA Baseball All-America first team.

The first and second teams are also recognized as ABCA/Rawlings All-Americans by the American Baseball Coaches Association and Rawlings Sporting Goods. The ABCA began recognizing All-Americans in 1949 and named the first ABCA NAIA All-America team in 1969.

Marchant did not allow an earned run in 26.1 innings this season for the Vikings, posting a 3-2 record with a conference and national best - 13 saves.This also broke the Grand View school record of 10 saves in a season.  He held opponents to a .114 batting average and allowed just 10 hits while striking out 33.

Marchant is currently in Springfield, Ohio playing for the Champion City Kings in the Prospect League.
