Des Moines, Iowa- Grand View competitive cheer and head coach Stacie Horton are pleased to announce the addition of five student-athletes to the 2017-18 roster. 

Desiree Priebe is the daughter of Lisa Priebe and a four year letter winner at Roosevelt High School where she was under the coaching of Cara Rypka. Priebe earned several PTA Awards in business and will continue to develop her knowledge in business while at Grand view earning her bachelor's degree in business. 

 

Shimae Obie is the daughter or La Conda Obie and a four year letter winner from Roosevelt High School where she was under the coaching of Cara Rypka. Obie was the captain of her Roosevelt squad, a member of the honor roll and also lettered academically. She will study nursing during her time at Grand View. 

 

Kelsey Tingwald is the daughter of Cheri Rice and Andrew Rice. She was a four year letter winner at Bondurant-Farrar under the coaching of Patti Davis. She was also a member of the Honor Squad. During her senior year she earned a 3.7 GPA while competitively competing in cheer. 

  

Meridith Wignall is the daughter of Stacey West and a three year letter winner from East High School where she was under the coaching of Nikki Beals. She also earned Most Valuable Cheerleader and Most Valuable Flyer while at East. Wignall was a member of the National Honor Society and lettered in academics as well. While attending Grand View she will study nursing. 

 

Ashley Fitzgerald is the daughter of Lisa Lopez and Jamie Fitzgerald. She was a five time letter winner at Carlisle High School under the coaching of Jen Nordhegen. She received several awards for cheer from Coach Nordhegen including -- Best JV Flyer and Coach "Wow" Award in 2014, Best Smile, Stunt Award and Team Player Star Award in 2015, Super Base, along with Best Side Base and Best Smile in 2016. In 2016-17, Fitzgerald was also the Carlisle Cheer Team Captain. At the 2015 Iowa High School Cheerleading State Championships, Fitzgerald was part of the 2nd Place Class 3A - 5 man stunt group and 4th Place Class 3A - Team Dance/Cheer.  In 2016 she was part of the 3rd Place Class 3A - 5 man stunt group and 5th Place Class 3A - Team Dance/Cheer. Fitzgerald was named to the Dean's list her senior year and presented with the "Excellence in Academic Achievement" and "Distinguished Academic Achievement" by the Iowa High School Athletic Association for team GPA. Fitzgerald will major in nursing while attending Grand View.
