Ozark, MO- The Vikings faced No. 6-ranked in the NAIA Clarke University in game 2 of the Heart of America Athletic Conference Tournament. The Vikings dropped three of four matchups with Clarke during the regular season and Clarke was able to win theis contest 6-2, despite GV out hitting the Cursaders 14-8.

Clarke took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the third but Grand View tied the ball game 2-2 in the top of the fifth. The Crusaders took the lead again in the bottom of the fifth bringing in two more runs and sealed the deal in the sixth with two more.

Grand View was led at the plate by Ryan Curtis (SR/Altoona, Iowa) who went 3-5, Michael Foggia (SR/Grimes, Iowa) who went 2-3 with an RBI, Damon Nuss (JR/Sumner, Iowa) who went 2-4 with an RBI, and Hunter Embray (JR/Knoxville, Iowa) who went 2-4.  Eric Winter (JR/Oakdale, Minnesota) recorded the loss for the Vikings and Hunter MacIntosh pitched a strong 3.0 innings of relief giving up only one earned run on 3 hits while striking out three.

The Vikings will play Benedictine tomorrow, Sunday May 8, at 10am in single elimination play.
