Fayette, MO- The Grand View Baseball team split in two games on the road against No. 5 Central Methodist University. The Vikings are now 23-18 overall and 14-10 in the Heart.

Grand View won game one, 5-4, after taking the lead in the fifth inning.  Cody Mathews (SR/Middleton, Idaho) recorded the win lasting 6.2 innings giving up only three earned runs on seven hits.  Austin Marchant (JR/Indianola, Iowa) took over for the last out to record his 10th save of the season.  The Vikings were led at the plate by Tyler Smith (FR/South Africa) who went 2-4 with double and an RBI, Josh Luna (FR/Pleasantville, Iowa) who went 2-4 with an RBI, and Jack Haller (JR/Urbandale, Iowa) who went 1-2 with a double and 2RBI. 

In the second game, the Vikings lost 13-5, after giving Central Methodist an early 4-0 lead in the first inning.  The Vikings were led at the plate by Ryan Curtis (SR/Altoona, Iowa) who went 2-3 with an RBI and Damon Nuss (JR/Sumner, Iowa) who went 2-3 with a double. 

The Vikings will next play at William Penn this coming weekend.  Saturday and Sunday's doubleheaders will start at 1pm.
