Canton, MO- No. 21 Grand View softball scored 30 runs in their doubleheader vs Culver-Stockton winning game one 12-5 and game two 18-2 (5 innings). The Vikings are now 32-10 overall and 20-6 in the Heart.

The Vikings jumped out to a 12-0 lead in the opener before settling for a 12-5 victory behind the pitching of Claudia Farrell (JR/Des Moines, Iowa), who recorded 13 strikeouts in the game. Grand View scored 12 runs on 12 hits in the first five innings of game one, ending the game with 13 hits overall. The Vikings were also given 10 walks by Wildcat pitching in the game.

Farrell held the Wildcats to three hits through the first four innings before she left the game in favor of reliever Sasha Frauenholz (JR/Iowa City, Iowa) in the fifth. C-SC took advantage of the switch and banged out four hits and scored five runs in one-third of an inning before Farrell was summoned back to the circle.

Devin Brown (SR/Indianola, Iowa) and Kari Adams (FR/Newton) both recorded 2RBI for the Vikings as well.

In game two, the Vikings took a 1-0 before the Wildcats scored twice in the second inning. That lead was short-lived as the Vikings plated 12 runs on nine hits and two costly C-SC errors in the bottom of the inning. Grand View added four more runs in the fourth and a single run in the fifth to complete the day.

Offensively, Kate Crow (JR/Ames, Iowa) led the Vikings going 3-4 with 7RB off 3 double. Brown recorded four runs off four at bats and two hits, Lexi Merritt recorded three hits along with Poortinga and Kelsey Winnett (SO/Coon Rapids, Iowa) accounting for two each.
