Des Moines, IA. –Grand View claimed the Heart of America Athletic Conference regular season and tournament championships this year along with four individual awards, three first team All-Conference honors, one second team All-Conference honor and seven Academic All-Conference honors.  Awards were announced at the tournament banquet last week.

Pedro Cardoso (SR/Sao Paulo, Brazil), Tim Johnson (JR/Chicago, Illinois) and Felipe Rosa (JR/Sao Paulo, Brazil) were all named first team All-Conference.

Senior outside hitter Cardoso earned the top individual honor as the league's Player of the Year along with first team All-Conference. Cardoso was one of the top attacking players in the league, averaging 3.5 kills per set while hitting .308. He also recorded 93 digs, 42 blocks and a team-leading 53 service aces.

On top of first team, senior setter Rosa earned Setter of the Year this season directing the Grand View attack, dishing out 10.3 assists per set to go along with 30 blocks and 13 service aces.

Johnson recorded 237 kills on the season, ranking 15th in the nation on his hitting percentage (.360) and 20th in kills per a game (3.290).

John Chamone (FR/Miami Beach, Florida), freshman outside hitter, was named Newcomer/Freshman of the Year in the conference. Chamone averaged 2.8 kills per set along with 34 digs, 10 blocks and 10 service aces.

Respectively senior middle back Savili Bartley (SR/Wai'anae, Hawai'i) earned second team All-Conference. He ranks 6th in the nation in two categories, hitting percentage (.421) along with blocks per a game (1.110) with 93 total blocks, 8th in the nation.

Seven men's volleyball players were named academic All-Conference including Brandon Anderson (SO/Davis Junction, Illinois), Cardoso, Felipe Noguiera, Zakir Pasha (JR/Chicago, Illinois), Arnaldo Rivera, Rosa, Steve Harvey (SR/St. Louis, Missouri).

Head Coach Donan Cruz was named Co-Coach of the Year, recording a 22-3 record with the Vikings, and undefeated in the regular and post season conference (12-0).
