Des Moines, Iowa- The Grand View Baseball team won both games of their double header against Graceland University on Monday.  The Vikings are now 4-2 in the Heart of America Athletic Conference and 12-8 overall. 

In the first game, the Vikings put up 11 runs on 14 hits to beat Graceland 11-1.  Cody Mathews (SR/Middleton, Idaho) recorded the win in a complete game shutout giving up only one run on four hits.  Grand View was led at the plate by Josh Luna (FR/Pleasantville, Iowa) who went 3-3 with 2HR and 4RBI and Dustin Nelson (JR/Mondovi, Wisconsin) who went 4-4 with 2B, HR, and 3RBI. 

In game two, Grand View put up two runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to come back to beat Graceland 2-1.  The Vikings were led at the plate by Michael Foggia (SR/Grimes, Iowa) who went 2-2 with a 2B and an RBI and Jake Miller (SR/Prior Lake, Minnesota) who went 1-2.  Nick Bentley (JR/Woodbury, Minnesota) started the game with a strong 5.1 innings, only giving up one run on five hits while striking out four to get the win.  Austin Marchant (JR/Indianola, Iowa) records the save going 1.2 innings, giving up no runs and no hits while striking out three batters.

The Vikings will be back in action on the road tomorrow in Iowa City to play the University of Iowa at 4:00 pm.
