KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Senior Maddie Westergard (SR/Fort Calhoun, Nebraska) was recognized by The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) as they announced the 2017 NAIA Division I Women's Basketball All-America Teams Thursday. Players were selected by the NAIA-Women's Basketball Coaches Association All-America Committee. Each team – first, second and third – consists of 10 individuals. Westergard was the only Grand View women's basketball athlete to be honored, earning Honorable Mention status at the NAIA level.

Westergard holds 7 NAIA Division l rankings, including one number one, four in the top ten and 5 in the top 15. Westergard ended her career ranked No. 1 in total blocks (124) and No. 2 in blocks per Game (3.875). She also ranked No. 6 in defensive rebounds per game (7.906) and No. 7 in total total rebounds (337). Her finally tree rankings consisted of No. 11 in total rebounds per game (10.531) No. 26 in field goal percentage (0.499) and No. 43 in total scoring (471).

Westergard played 118 games for the Vikings in her career, tallying a total of 1292 points, 316 blocks, and 970 rebounds. Her career high in points came her senior year against Baker where she recorded 28 points for the Vikings.
