The 24th ranked Grand View Vikings lost to the Baker University Wildcats 93-88 in Baldwin City, Kansas Saturday afternoon in their final regular season game of the year.

The Viking defense was a step slow for most of the day and the Wildcats took advantage in the first half shooting 50% from the field on 19-38 shooting including 4-12 from downtown to take a 46-34 lead into halftime. Meanwhile Grand View struggled shooting 12-33 for 36% in the first half and just 3-10 from distance as Baker spent much of the first half in a 2-3 zone the Vikings couldn't solve.

Grand View made a couple runs in the second half as all good teams do but the closest it got was six midway through the half as Baker made some timely three's to hold on for the upset. While the Viking offense picked up shooting 60% in the final 20 minutes there was no drop off from Baker offensively as they were 13-25 from the field including 5-6 from three as they held on for the win 93-88 win.

The Vikings finished with four players in double figures led by junior Jjuan Hadnot (Beaumont, Texas) who finished with 27 points. Junior Nate Washington (Houston, Texas) added 15 points while seniors Kerry Green (Missouri City, Texas) and Chase Mullen (Friendswood, Texas) had 13 and 11 points respectively.

Grand View finishes the regular season 20-9 overall and 18-8 in the Heart of America Conference which finishes them in second place.

Grand View will now play Thursday in the quarterfinals of the Heart of America Conference Tournament. The Vikings will not know their opponent until Tuesday's first round games.
