Fayette, Mo. -  Grand View dance team finished in third place out of seven schools and the GVU Competitive cheer team finished in eighth place at the  Heart of America Athletic Conference Spirit Squad Championships hosted by Central Methodist University.

Coach Stacie Horton was pleased with the routines performed. "I was extremely proud of both the cheer and dance teams and the performances they put on the floor.  The energy and showmanship in both routines improved a great deal from duals two weeks ago.  Although the outcome was not what we had hoped, I couldn't have asked for better effort from both teams.  We will take the scores and judges' comments into consideration in improving our routines for regional competition in two weeks.
